First Things First!

Is your life in the right order? Are you overwhelmed with the urgent and neglecting the important? What can you do to set things right?

Who can deny the existence of the tyranny of the urgent? So much needs to be done and cries for our attention. But there is a beauty of doing the important first — the urgent often takes care of itself.

Certainly, we all face urgent tasks each day and I am not suggesting we neglect those urgent things. But we must not ignore the important.

As Jesus tells us, seek God’s kingdom and righteousness first. A promise is connected to this — all our needs will be met by God!

When we put God first in our daily lives, he helps us with the other demands of our life. Many times, the things that seemed so urgent simply fade away. Often, the things we are anxious about are resolved without stress.

There is the sublime and subtle application of the power of God into our daily lives that helps us enjoy peace and productivity.

A morning time of prayer and Bible reading helps us get the right focus for our day. We gain insight and perspective and wisdom!

When we put God first, he will help us get everything done that needs to be done. He guides our path and helps us find our way through all the voices and demands.
