For Power and Profit

This is especially disconcerting as these people have repeatedly shown their contempt for those who think outside their paradigms — contempt for the common people.

Power corrupts.

I think this behavior comes out of ideological hegemony and also maybe to a greater extent the push of these magnates toward globalization. So these decisions are pragmatic as well as compulsory.

It will be obvious to anyone with any sense that the authoritarian left are the ones holding institutional power and oppressing dissenters with a culture of fear and violence.

But the powerful elites at Google and otherwise seem to be making expedient decisions that will solidify their loyalties as we progress into the uncertain future.

I don’t think they’re trying to silence us (people with the wrong opinions). I think for the most part they’d rather not alienate anyone who uses the services and generates revenue for them, but they’ll just as quickly throw you under the bus if it means saving face with the global marketplace. No one has ever held that kind of influence. There’s a lot of pressure on the bodies governing these platforms. I’m hesitant to jump to conclusions about worldwide conspiracies, though I do think they are doing a bad job, throwing dissidents into time-out, shoveling people into virtual ghettos based on their beliefs. Yeah, it sucks. But I don’t think it’s fully at the whim of the social justice left. I think we have SJWs and cowards, who go the way of the voices that scream loudest. My fear is that they are using their influence to promote a world unity among people who just can’t peacefully coexist, and overlooking these facts for the sake of profit and greater power.
