Breakthrough Transphormation

This is it! This is my breakthrough Transphormation

I am an amateur mixed martial arts fighter, and I am no stranger to diets or living a healthy lifestyle. I wasn’t always this way. When training for fights, I would diet and eat healthy, or so I thought.

The problem was that I wasn’t accurately tracking and being accountable for my nutrition, specifically on my macros.

I’ve struggled for years to make weight for fights naturally; instead, I would cut 10 pounds to make weight- mostly water weight.

In early October of 2021, I found the 1st Phorm app because I wanted to track my nutrition and get healthier for my upcoming fights. I’m not going to lie; I like to eat. My main problem is portion sizes. Oh, and carbs.

Luck would have it that 1st Phorm started their 8-week Transphormation Challenge on October 11th.

I was intrigued for a few reasons. I was looking for a way to eat healthier and track my nutrition. Secondly, I want to win $50,000 to help with my dad’s medical bills and help me out while I continue my path to become a nurse and a fighter in the UFC on the side.

I joined the challenge, and I had my blinders on to win. I was in an excellent position to do well with the challenge because I was training 4–5 days a week at a demanding level. I was extra motivated intrinsically and extrinsically.

Extrinsically, my motivation was the money prize and living a healthier lifestyle.

Intrinsically though, I wanted to do it for my dad. He always supported me with anything that I wanted to do in life. When I mentioned this challenge to him, he got excited for me and thought it was a great idea.

Time seemed to stop for me at this moment.

You see, my dad had a stroke last year, which left him unable to speak that well. Our communication was challenging for each other and, at times, frustrating for both of us. I saw the support in his eyes and how he was always there for me.
