Content that doesn’t get stale and is 100% relevant for years. Google loves it and you should too.

Evergreen content is the type of content that does best on Medium, as Medium is a platform that rewards fresh articles and penalizes those that grow stale.

Your audience doesn’t read stale articles, and as such you get no reading time. Finally, no reading time means no earnings — and you don’t want that.

Here’s what mom never told you about evergreen content.

Medium pays you based on reading time, and that means you must accumulate the biggest reading time numbers you can in order to really bring home the cash.

Having this in mind, your latest article is usually the biggest moneymaker — but top earners tell a very different story.

In fact, I’m already at a point where I make more money out of my backlog of articles than I do with the ones I just published.

Why?

Because my past articles STAY relevant and thus attract fresh readers every day. News articles, time-sensitive articles, and even product reviews get stale… people no longer want to read those past articles, and thus they don’t earn.

They become a waste of space in your portfolio, something that just sits there, earning no money — and this is why Evergreen content is the content you should be writing.

I can almost hear you saying that your niche doesn’t support evergreen content. Rest assured, this is fake, and every niche can be seen through an evergreen perspective.
