Cancer sucks

Two years ago I underwent surgery to remove a tumor in my small intestine. I was fortunate that it was caught early and all traces of cancer were removed during surgery. As part of my treatment, I take a daily oral medication instead of radiation or chemotherapy. I’ll be taking the medication for another year or so.

My medication is one of those grossly expensive drugs that would normally cost around $3,000 a month! Fortunately, my oncologist was able to find an organization that assists cancer patients with their medication. Otherwise, it is likely I would not be able to take the medication.

The prognosis for my situation is excellent and I consider myself fortunate.
