Trust the process and allow your creativity to flourish. Because if you never release your work you will never know what your best truly is.

One of the things I am most worrisome about is leaving my best work on my hard drive for eternity. I create everyday so I have a ton of music to share, but finding a way to share in the most effective way is the toughest thing. My new work always tends to be my most valued work so my older stuff usually just sits in my files for a while. It’s a shame really because my most successful work could be created already; I just haven’t shared it with the world yet. Creating a way to share all of your best work is the key factor in becoming the most successful artist you can be.

Since I like to create something new every day, I know the thing I make won’t be the best work I’ve ever made. Sometimes I strike gold and sometimes I strike out. It happens to all of us. The real key is being able to sift through all your work to find the best of what you’ve made so far. It could be the thing you made 2 weeks ago or a month ago you saved and never went back to. This happens a lot to me but I’ve been able to create time for myself to objectively observe my work after the fact and consider posting it or not. It’s one of the reasons why I have over 200+ beats on my website and post something new every Friday. Once I found the benchmark of quality, I went back through my work and found the things I’ve made that reached my quality metric.

One thing I ask of you is don’t let your best work go to the hard drive graveyard. I’ve made thousands of beats and a lot of them I didn’t share at the time and I kind of wish I did. It’s hard to go back a few years and what you made is still your best work. Whether it be your paintings, writings, beats, or songs you recorded. Sift through your most recent work from the past 6 months and organize your best work into a project. It will allow you to release your best creations to the world and give yourself the ability to level up and make even more great things. It’s worked for me time and time again I just wish everyone else had this mindset as well.
