In August it is hot there is no getting around it is hot and once the sun comes up the temperature starts growing up dramatically.

The temptation is always there to just bag it and say “I’ll Do It Tomorrow”. When you do that then you truly are not committed to the result you want. For me the guilt will gnaw at me the whole day. Guilt used properly can be a powerful tool to help you stay on track.

If you are doing something outside that means getting out early. For me during the week I get up at five four days a week. I go out for a run.

On the weekends that means I go out later and it starts to get hot. There’s no way that I am going to be able to keep the same running pace I do when it is cool outside. At least that’s the story I’m telling myself now.

Slow is better and getting your miles is good versus not doing it at all. Slowing down allows me to get my exercise in and stay on track with my training for the Spartan Race. Conditions are never ideal. You can always find an excuse if that is your pattern.
