Have people ever called you “moody”?

How about Bi-Polar?

Has anyone ever told you they’re not in a good mood?

Moods are triggered by thoughts. Thoughts can be triggered by events, sounds, smells or anything else we can experience with our five(or six) senses.

For instance, during the holidays radio stations and retail outlets play Christmas songs for the season. Just hearing one of these songs can trigger thoughts of joy, excitement or other nostalgic memories of holidays. These thoughts can directly effect your mood, and those who notice might say you’re in the Holiday Spirit or you’re in the Christmas spirit.

On the other hand, a man in a hurry to get to work on time, gets pulled over for speeding, gets a ticket and misses an important meeting. When he finally arrives and walks into the office, what do you think his mood will be for the morning? It’s likely, he wont be in a good mood at all.

The average person would be distraught and it would probably impact the rest of their day if they remain in that current mood. Most of us don’t actually enjoy being angry, nor enjoy being sad. When others try to console or tell us to just let it go, it’s just not always so easy to snap right out of it.

In the world, it’s understood that there’re challenges and situations that will trigger feelings of anger or sadness. However, these moods and feelings of stress, anger or sadness are only meant to be temporary and should not be allowed to imprison our minds and arrest our peace.

See that’s just it, most people don’t feel in their heart, that they have a right to be happy, nor do they believe that they’re in 100% control of their own happiness. Most of us think we have to wait for our mood to wear off or wait for some external event, some person or some object to trigger our happiness.
