FLUF + Frens take over Austin, TX for SXSW

On March 12th and 13th the FLUF & Frens ecosystem took over Austin, TX for SXSW. Community members from all over the world joined us in what was ASM’s first IRL event, as well as an array of new faces keen to explore this wonderful world of brains, rabbits, bears and more.

It was a whirlwind weekend full of interactive XR activations, meaningful discussions on what it means to create an open metaverse and of course, two incredible Fluf Haus events at night.

Let’s take a look back at some of our favourite ASM moments.

Our trip wouldn’t have been complete without a community meetup and some Texas BBQ! Meeting the incredible people behind the Discord names we’ve been getting to know for the past six months was a true highlight for the team. 🤠

A growing community of diverse minds is always better than one and a core component of our ethos and vision for the open metaverse. This year at SXSW, FLUF & Frens presented the Metaverse Manifesto: a collective vision for an open, inclusive metaverse that empowers its inhabitants.

Encouraging conversation, engaging industry leaders, businesses and Web3 enthusiasts to define a shared standard we can build towards together.

Who was there? 👀

Industry leaders engaged in meaningful discussions and answered questions from the audience on topics such as what it means to create an open metaverse, sustainability, creativity, and interoperability in web3.

The Altered State Machine team and partners joined the conversation to discuss some of the things we’re most excited about,

We showed off the first ever AIFA game play demonstration, with teams of ASMilated vs Zombie All-Stars competing in the Neon City Arena. Complete with a first glimpse at what some of those mysterious ‘superpowers’ David mentioned could look like… Seeing our artificially intelligent All-Stars make their first public appearance in the Arena was a landmark event for the ASM team and community, and we can’t wait to share more with you.
