Rejection

Everyone has experienced the disappointment in their life from a kind of rejection or “put down” from fellow peers. We all get to hear the inspirational stories of the people who became famous because of their perseverance and I’m glad that Ms. Aswell said that, “Rejection isn’t something that happens to you on the road to becoming a professional writer. Rejection is an integral part of being a professional writer.” It is true for all professions and dreams because there is no easy road to greatness. You grow strong from your weakness or your mistakes. Not everyone will like your work, and they may never, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t someone out there who is longing to see what you have got to say. You learn and grow from rejection and pain. One can never really forget the pain and the heartbreak and the embarrassment that overwhelms at the moment. You use all of that emotion to propel you forward, to give you power and motivate you to trudge through the rough patches. You also need to have the passion for what you are doing. People who do not enjoy their work or are not motivated enough, rejection will completely break you and you will say, “Well that failed,” and then give up and move on to other things. You need to be confident and persistent with the work. Once people believe in themselves nothing can get in their way. Have the courage to overcome rejection to become the best “you” you can be.
